Dancewear FAQs
I need to get a leotard, but I don’t like the camisole style. Do I have other choices?
Of course! There are thousands of styles available that you can buy. If you don’t like one style, you can definitely find something that you do like. Halter tops and sleeved leotards are very popular alternatives to camisole styles.
If I am getting into a kind of dance, should I buy the top-of-the-line equipment right away?
Actually, it isn’t recommended if you are just getting started in a new kind of dance. Really nice equipment is going to cost a lot of money, which you are going to be out if you decide that you don’t care for that particular kind of dance. If you turn around and sell your equipment, you will get very little of your money back, even if it is in good condition.
Get equipment that will get you started and will last you a while. You don’t want to go really cheap on it, but don’t dump a lot of money into it until you know whether you like the dance or not.
I don’t have a lot of money to buy my new dance supplies. What should I spend the most money on?
It will depend on the type of dance you are getting into, but the answer will probably be shoes. You can dance while wearing an improvised or second-hand outfit. You can’t dance if you don’t have the right shoes. You can injure yourself if you have the wrong shoes or ones that do not fit properly. Spend the money you need to and get shoes that are of a decent quality and feel good.
